Batman Azteca: Choque de imperios

Yohualli Coatl, a young Aztec, experiences a tragedy when his father and village leader, Toltecatzin, is killed by Spanish conquistadors. Yohualli escapes to Tenochtitlán to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of the imminent danger. Using the temple of Tzinacan, the bat god, as his refuge, Yohualli trains with his mentor and assistant, Acatzin, developing equipment and weaponry to face the Spanish invasion, protect Moctezuma's temple, and avenge his father's death.

Responsible for Previsualization

Batman Azteca had a interesting approach for a 2D feature film. It was a production in which the Canarias Layout team had the opportunity to collaborate right at the beginning of the project. In Mexico, the teams were still being assembled, and they needed assistance in testing and progressing simultaneously. I had the chance to contribute for a very short period, delivering previsualization materials for some sequences, as I was quickly reassigned to other internal development needs that the studio had.

Our role during the process was to help define the cinematography of the project at a very early stage. Additionally, we provided the 2D layout and background team with references for perspective, aiding them in creating the backgrounds for the project.
